01/19/15 – “Alice” – Corgi Mix at Hart County Humane Society

Alice2No one knows how long the short little dog lived on the streets of Hartwell before finally being caught.

Animal control took the terrified dog to Northeast Georgia Animal shelter, where she was listed as a stray.

As her time ran out we would be her only chance at rescue. You see, the dog everyone thought was a half-grown feral puppy was really a 2 year old heart worm positive, emotionally scarred adult dog.

Alice is a 30 pound female Corgi mix, she has been spayed, micro chipped, is up to date with vaccinations, been treated for parasites and is on preventative. Thanks to the support of our community, Alice has been treated for the heart worms and is now healthy.

And thanks to the caring foster home provided by Margaret O’neal, Alice is now a happy and loving companion. Alice is house trained, gets along with other dogs, cats and people of all ages.
