02/10/2014 – “Farrah” – Young Hound Mix at Hart County Humane Society

FarrahAs pleas were made for pets to be brought inside during the recent cold weather spell, a call came about two dogs chained in a yard with no dog houses. It appeared that the owner moved and left the dogs chained with no food, water or shelter. A deputy went out and determined the dogs were in fact abandoned but the shelter had already closed for the day.

The Hart County Humane Society provided a temporary place were the dogs would be warm and fed until transported to the shelter. As the dogs were loaded the next day for the trip to the shelter, we couldn’t help but notice how especially sweet the skinny little female was, so sweet that she licked the face of a volunteer as she was put in a cage.

Shelter staff knew we cared about her fate and called us when her time ran out. We are happy to have the sweet girl now called Farrah.

Farrah is an approximately two year old, 35 pound, maybe a hound mix? Her adoption fee covers her spay, micro chipping, negative heart worm test, up to date vaccinations, parasite treatment and preventative. Farrah is crate trained, gets along with other dogs and has little interest in cats. If you would like more information or would like to meet this very deserving pet, please call 706-436-0965 or email [email protected]
