03/03/14 -Xena-Jack Russell mix at Hart County Humane Society
Little Xena is a Jack Russell mix and if you’ve ever wanted a boxer, but couldn’t deal with their size, this is your dog!
We’re not sure of her complete bloodline, but she has the worried Boxer expression, along with the deep brown eyes. We have been told that she has some Chihuahua and yes, she has the bark, the ears, and the personality, but she is also a calm, quiet girl who will sleep calmly in her crate while you are away and will even let you sleep through the night.
She is the ideal pet for someone who doesn’t want a high maintenance dog as her favorite activity is sitting and playing with a dog toy on the sofa. Our sweet girl has a superhero name because of her amazing story… our little warrior pup’s owner had to be hospitalized and when Xena was found, she had no food or water and was nursing two puppies.
Extremely nervous at first, Xena is learning to enjoy walks and playing with her foster mom. When Xena is happy, she jumps for joy… usually while she is walking down the street! She is a delight! Xena ignores cats, but has some food aggression (probably due to her past situation) so although she does get along with other dogs, it might be best for her to be the only dog. She is a sweetie, but plays hard, so she would do better in a home with adults or at least older children.
