New Medical Practice Coming to Carnesville

The town of Carnesville will once have access to local family healthcare.

Carnesville mayor Harris Little says the town recently signed a deal with  Chet Ford, a Certified Nurse Practitioner, to open a new practice on SR145.

Ford and his wife Nicole, own Family First Healthcare in Lavonia and in Royston.  Little said this will be the Fords’ third office in Franklin County.

“That’s the intention that they will open their office and have a medical presence,” Little said. “It will probably be pretty limited at first, but we believe they will be pretty busy. His wife, Nicole is from Carnesville and his mother lives here in Carnesville and people know her, they know Chet. So, we think it will be a good asset to the community.”

The former practice was affiliated with Ty Cobb Healthcare and closed a year ago.  Little said the city of Carnesville has been in talks with the Fords since then.

“We’re looking forward to it. They do good work. They’re real community oriented so I think they will be a great addition to the community,” Little said.

Little said he did not have a timeline as to when the practice would open.
