Absentee Ballots Available Next Week

Some reminders for voters regarding the upcoming November General Election.

Time is running out to register to vote if you want to cast a ballot in November.

Voter registration ends on October 6th.

Advance Voting for the November 4th election runs from October 13 – the 31st with one Saturday advance voting on October 25th.

Franklin County Elections Superintendent Gina Chappelear tells WLHR News absentee ballots by mail will be available beginning Saturday September 20, 2014 for the November 4, 2014 General Election.

A written request is required for all ballots and you do not need a reason to apply for an absentee ballot.

Voters may call and request an application now through October 31, but the ballots have to be mailed out by October 31 and returned by Tuesday, November 4th to the Franklin County Board of Elections Office or to the Hart County Registrar’s office for them to be counted in the general election.

Additionally, if an absentee ballot was requested for the May Primary or July Runoff and the individual was not elderly or disabled, then a new Absentee Ballot request will be needed to vote in the November General election.

Sample ballots will be available by mail, in the elections office and are also available on the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter page website at http://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/
