Boil Water Advisory Begins Today for Parts of Franklin Springs

Just a reminder for people living in Franklin Springs.

The city will be working on the water system today and will be shutting off water service beginning at around 8a in the Rolling Hills area.

That means a boil water advisory will be in effect until further notice for water used for cooking, drinking and preparing baby food.

Franklin Springs mayor Lee Moore says city workers will be taking out the water line to the last of three water towers in the town.

The City of Franklin Springs now buys their water from Franklin County and the City of Royston and the water towers are no longer needed.

Moore said the water in that neighborhood will be cut off for several hours today.

Residents in that area should boil their water for cooking, drinking, and making baby food until the EPD determines the water is free of contaminants.
