Christmas Market Underway in Lavonia

The City of Lavonia is gearing up for several big holiday events next month.

But one holiday event already underway is the annual Christmas Market in downtown Lavonia.

DDA and Better Hometown Director Marie Morse said the idea is to remind people that they don’t have to go to a big box store to find those special holiday items.

“The Christmas Market is part of a continued effort so that we can promote local shopping during the holiday season,” Morse said. “It’s important to remind people that in addition to seasonal vegetables and eggs, the market will feature baked items, jams, jellies, pecans and other treats. This gives people many options to shop downtown and shop local in Lavonia.”

Morse said the regular farmer’s market will also continue through the rest of November and all December every Wednesday and Saturday as well.  And as in past years, Morse said the focus is on homemade goods for the holidays.

Morse said there is a small fee to set up at the Christmas Market.  The Christmas Market runs through the end of December every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
