Early Voting Begins Today for May 24 Non-Partisan, Primary Election

Early voting starts today for the May 24th General Primary and Non-Partisan Elections.

Early voting ends Friday, May 20th.

Voters in both Franklin and Hart counties will be deciding on a host of local races, including county commission seats, board of education races, as well as Sheriff, District Attorney, and Superior Court Judge.

They will also be choosing State Senate candidates and candidates for U.S. House of Representatives.

In Franklin County, voters will go to the Franklin County Elections and Registrations Office in Carnesville from 8:00a-4:30p to early vote.

Elections Supervisor Gina Chappalear also advises voters who want tan absentee ballot to get their requests in now so her office will have plenty of time to mail a ballot to you.

Additionally, with Franklin County’s new Web site now up and running, Chappalear says voters can go online to get more information on the May 24th election as well as other voter information.

“All of this information is on our Web site. There are also links to be able to fill out the application for the absentee ballot,” Chappalear explained. “On there, they can type it in, print it off and fax it to me. I’ve tried to make everything accessible to everybody.”

The Franklin County Web address is www.franklincountyga.gov.

Then click on “departments” then scroll down and click on Elections and Registrations.

In Hart County, voters will go to the Elections and Registrations office on Cade St. in Hartwell to cast an early ballot.

Hart County voters with questions can call Elections Supervisor Robin Webb at 706-376-8911.

And a reminder for all voters, there will be one day for voters to vote on a Saturday.

That will be Saturday, May 14th from 9a to 4p.
