Judge seat.Early voting began last week.
The run-off election is December 2nd•Hart County Registrar John Stercho said there will also be no early voting on Thanksgiving
Day or the Friday after.

Five candidates vied to fill the unexpired term of former judge Bob Smith who resigned in July.
They included, Priscilla Kay Ankerich, Thaddeus Keith Cheek, Merry Pilgrim Kirk, Jon David
Scott, and Todd C. Townsend.
But no candidate got the required 51% of the vote so next week, voters will go back to polls to
choose between Interim Probate Judge Merry Kirk, and Todd Townsend.
When all the votes were in, Merry Kirk garnered 2,307 votes, and Todd Townsend racked up
1,839 votes.

At their regular meeting earlier this month, Stercho asked the County for extra $2,466 to
cover the run-off election.
After hearing from Stercho, the board approved his funding request.
Early voting in Hart County for the Probate Judge Run-off takes place at Hart County
Registrar’s office on Cade St. Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
