Emmanuel College is one of the Safest in Georgia

Emmanuel College is officially one of the safest college campuses in the State of Georgia.

Last week Backgroundcheck.org released their annual ranking of the safest colleges in Georgia.

And of these colleges, Emmanuel College was named the 2nd safest college in the state of Georgia.

Emmanuel College President Ron White explains how the ranking is done and what criteria are used in making this list.

This particular group does a ranking on safety and of course all colleges and universities have to provide a Federal report that is public information that shows crime on campus and our report here has always shown a very small number of crimes. This is one thing that got us to the top of that list, is that we continually have a campus that is relatively crime free as well as one where people are safe. There are very few injuries reported or any kind of damages of that nature reported.” White said.

White said one reason for the campus being so safe is it’s rural setting, but the again a lot of colleges on that list are rural colleges. He also said a lot of the credit goes to his faculty and staff who work with the students to help them be aware of safe actions to take and good behaviors. He credits the staff for being another part of what has made this possible.

White also says good cooperation with the City of Franklin Springs and Franklin County has been very helpful in this area.

It’s a very cooperative arrangement we’ve always worked well with the city and the county for that matter. We want to be a good partner with the municipalities and the governments in this area. We do our best and they do their best to back us up and make sure when we need them they there.” White said.

These and other reasons make Emmanuel College one of the safest colleges in the State of Georgia.
