Escapees From Franklin County Jail Captured

Two escapees from the Franklin County Detention Center are now back behind bars.
The men escaped about 3:30p Tuesday afternoon.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas, law enforcement from several jurisdictions joined in the search, including the Lavonia Police Department , as well as canine units from Lee Arrandale State Prison, and officers with the Stephens County Sheriiff’s office.

One of the men was captured soon after. He is identified as 31-year old Arron Carroll of Commerce Ga. Carroll was being held on charges of obstruction, possession of a controlled substance and burglary.
A second escapee, identified as 31-year old Gregory Patterson-31 of Roper Rd Canon, was captured Tuesday evening.
Patterson was in jail on charges of probation violation, aggravated assault, burglary, obstruction and possession of a controlled substance.
Details on how the men managed to escape and how they were captured have not yet been released.
