Franklin Chamber Adds Feud to Food Fest

Franklin County’s Chamber of Commerce is doing a little something different this year instead of its normal Taste of Franklin County event.

In addition to great food, the Chamber is holding a Family Feud competition.  This year’s Taste of Franklin/Family Feud event takes place September 24th at 6:30p at the Swails Center in Franklin Springs.

The Chamber is sponsoring its first ever Family Feud competition among Chamber businesses.

According to Franklin County Chamber Director Tonya Powers, the Family Feud will be held in conjunction with the a scaled-down version of Taste of Franklin.

We’re asking for three team members per team and eight teams,” Powers explained. “And we’re just going to ask them different questions. The team who wins will receive a big trophy at the end of the night.”

Powers said three teams have signed up so far. There will be food to sample however. Powers said she has already enlisted various restaurants in Franklin County.

We’re still going to be offering dinner and we’ve reached out with bids from different restaurants,” she said. “We’re having one restaurant do an entre, one do an appetizer, one do a dessert. So, we’re still going to have different tastes from different restaurants in Franklin County.”

Any business is welcome to sign up for the Family Feud competition. Powers said she wants businesses from across the county to join in the fun.

We’re going to the school system, we’re going to all of the businesses in Franklin County. We want teams from all of the municipalities,” she said.
