Franklin County Honors Breakfast This Friday

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual STAR Student and Honors Breakfast this Friday at the Swails Center in Franklin Springs.

This year’s Franklin County High School STAR student is Abigail Denise LeCroy and the 2015 STAR teacher is honors Chemistry teacher Natalie Erskine.

Now in its 57th year, the STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) program has honored Georgia’s highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development.

To receive the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest SAT score at FCHS and be in the top 10 percent of their class.

LeCroy and Erskine will be recognized at the Honors breakfast Friday morning along with honor graduates.

To achieve the Honor Graduate Award, high school seniors must have a 93 or higher academic average, an 85 or higher elective average and 2 units of the same foreign language.

Tickets for this year’s Honors breakfast are $10 and are available at the Franklin County Chamber offices on Hull St. in the Carnesville Community Center in Carnesville.
