Gainesville Plant Recalling Chicken Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says Prime Pak Foods in  Gainesville,  is recalling approximately 24,000 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken breast products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. 

The products were formulated with egg and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label. 

The following products are subject to recall:

  • 2, 5-lb. bags in a 10-lb. box of “Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders” with the product code 77422 printed on the box.
  • 2, 5-lb. bags in a 10-lb. box of “Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks” with the product code 77448 printed on the box.

The chicken breast tenders were produced from Dec. 12, 2012 to March 21, 2014 and bear the establishment number “P-9165” inside the USDA mark of inspection.  

The products were distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions nationwide.
