GDOT Crews to Install New Water Line Today in Martin

Just a reminder for some residents in the Martin area.

Georgia DOT crews will be working to install the new water line for the Martin area at the intersection of Yowell Mill Road and State Route 17 today.

The City will turn off water at the intersection at 9 a.m. and expects the new water line to be operational by 5 p.m. this afternoon.

Today’s water line work is part of the SR17 widening project from the Franklin County line to Memorial Drive in Toccoa.

Last fall, a new water line was installed in the Anderson Thomas Road area of Martin which was also part of the widening project.

This 6.28 mile long widening project has a contract completion date of May 31, 2016. C.W. Matthews Contracting is building this project at a cost of $46.2 million.
