GDOT Maintenance Crews Doing Road Work This Week in NE GA

Georgia Department of Transportation crews will be back out in force throughout counties in our area this week, weather permitting, doing some routine road work.

Banks – A crew repair the driving surface of the SR 59 Bridge over the Hudson River, a lane will be closed as this work occurs. The shoulders alongside SR 51 and SR 63 will also be repaired requiring a lane closure. Another crew will be trimming vegetation in the rights of way alongside SR 63 and SR 15.

Elbert – A crew will trim vegetation growing alongside SR 77 and SR 72. This work requires the shoulders to be closed. Another crew will restripe faded pavement markings at the SR 17 and SR 72 interchange.

Franklin – A crew will mow the shoulders and slopes alongside SR 51 and SR 145. The shoulders will be closed as this work occurs.

Hart –A crew will clean and restore ditches alongside SR 77 Spur, SR 8, SR 181 and SR 77. Another crew will rebuild the shoulders alongside SR 17. Work will close the shoulder and one lane.

Madison – A crew clean spray overgrown vegetation with herbicide alongside SR 8 and SR 106. A lane and the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Stephens – A crew seal cracks in the driving surface of SR 184. A lane and the shoulder will be closed as this work occurs.

Crews will work Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits. Lane closures are required for patching asphalt, a flagman or pilot vehicle will direct traffic through the work zone.
