Hart County Hires New Senior Center Director

Hart County has a new Senior Center Director.

At their meeting Tuesday evening, the Hart County Board of Commissioners were introduced to County Administrator Jon Caime’s choice for the position.

“Her name is Tracy Patrick,” Caime said. “Tracy is a graduate of Emmanuel College and has 20 years experience working in county government.”

Caime said Patrick is a certified health and wellness leader.

Patrick previously worked for Madison County as a Wellness Director for the Madison County Board of Commisioners. During her tenure there, she was able to raise the employee participation by more than 75% thereby quadrupling the program membership, Caime said.

Patrick replaces Janet Shiflet, who had taken over the job in January 2014, but in December submitted her resignation for personal reasons.

Caime said he believes Patrick’s experience and professionalism will serve her well in her new role.

“Tracy has a strong passion for seniors,” Caime told the board. “We believe with her strong background in county government she will be a good fit. As you know, most of the programs at the Senior Center are funded by grants. So we’re happy to welcome Tracy to our team.”

Patrick will take over as Senior Center Director on Monday, Feb 2nd.
