Authorities recovered a stolen Nissan Altima after a high-speed chase in Franklin County

A high-speed chase through Franklin County leads to another arrest last week.

According to Sheriff Stevie Thomas, on Wednesday, August 12.

Franklin County Sheriff deputies and troopers with the Georgia State Patrol Hartwell Post attempted to stop a 2011 Nissan Altima traveling on I-85 that fit the description of a stolen vehicle out of North Carolina,” Thomas said. “The Nissan Altima refused to stop and a chase ensued.”

The vehicle exited I-85 at exit 177 and traveled down Whitworth Rd and eventually went off the road and crashed into some trees.

Two people jumped out of the Altima and ran but were eventually arrested.

They are identified as Deandra Jackson and Joshua Howard both of Asheville, North Carolina.

Jackson faces charges of theft by receiving a motor vehicle, theft by bringing stolen property into the state, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and numerous traffic violations.

Howard also faces numerous charges. Both individuals are being held at the Franklin County Detention Center.

A 15-year old juvenile from South Carolina was also in the stolen Altima. Her family was notified and she was released into their custody.
