“Jewell” – Beautiful Calico Van Kitty at Hart County Humane Society

June is Adopt a Cat Month!

And our little Jewell is one of a number of mama cats with nursing kittens rescued from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia.

This little Jewell is just that. She is beautiful, healthy and loving.  Jewell’s mama duties are now ended and she is looking for her own forever home.

Like all Hart County Humane Society cats and kittens, Jewell has been spayed, combo tested negative for leukemia and FIV,  vaccinated, micro chipped, and treated for parasites.

This time of year, it’s harder to find homes for adult cats, but adopting an adult cat often means you’re getting a calm, loving companion who is grateful to have a warm lap to curl up on.

Additionally, most mama cats are still kittens themselves or very young cats.

This time of year there is an overwhelming number of homeless cats and kittens. If you have been considering adoption please contact us to help you find a kitty to love.

Because of the number of kittens this time of year, we are in desperate need of volunteers who would be willing to foster a litter of kittens or a mamacat and her litter until they can be adopted.

The Hart County Humane Society will provide the food and all needed vet work. You just need to provide a space for them and lots of love.

Also, please consider making a donation to help us provide for the animals in our care.

Financial donations can be mailed to Hart County Humane Society P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell GA. 30643 or via PayPal at harthumane.org.

Donations of supplies can be dropped off at All Hart Realty 83 W. Franklin St. or Lake Hartwell Veterinary Clinic 1087 E. Franklin St in front of Quality Inn.

For more information about adopting or fostering, please call 706-436-0965 or email [email protected], together we can save them all.
