Man Shot By Police in Seneca Fast Food Parking Lot

A 19 year-old Seneca man is dead – the victim of a police involved shooting.

It happened Sunday night about 8:20p in the Hardee’s parking lot on the 123 Bypass.  The incident occurred during an undercover drug investigation being conducted by the Seneca Police.

Authorities say the victim was attempting to evade a police stop in the parking lot of the Hardee’s.

A Seneca Police officer felt threatened by the deceased who was driving his car toward the officer attempting to make the stop; the officer fired his weapon twice striking the deceased twice in the upper body.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is conducting an investigation; which is standard when police are involved.

An autopsy will be performed to assist with the death investigation.  Authorities have not yet released the name of the man who was shot and killed.
