Mobile Training Unit Will be in Area on December 1st

A mobile job training unit will return to Lavonia next week to help area residents. The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Workforce Development Mobile Training Unit will set up at the Lavonia Carnegie library on Monday, December 1.

Trainer Micah Thomas says the training units have been very helpful to those looking to improve their job search skills. “We come to assist individuals who may need help writing a resume or they have a job interview coming up. They have one, but it needs to be critiqued. So, we help with resume writing. We also help assist with job searches. Sometimes navigating the online job market, understanding how to apply, where to apply and what to apply for can be confusing. ”

The mobile training unit wm be at the Toccoa-Stephens County library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. The library is located on West Savannah Street in Toccoa. Thomas said the unit is open to everybody and adds there is no cost to use any of the mobile unit’s services. No appointments are necessary, but Thomas said arriving earlier allows people to receive assistance quicker and ensure they get in.
