Overnight Fire Destroys Pallet Company in Banks County

Officials will be looking into the cause of massive fire in Banks County overnight at a pallet manufacturer.

According to a report on AccessNorthGeorgia, flames broke out about 8:30p Monday night at the H&D Pallets on Garrison Shoals Road in Lula.

Firefighters from the Banks County Fire Department in Homer along with five volunteer fire departments and six fighters from Lee Arrendale State prison battled the blaze until about 2a when the fire was finally brought under control.

Officials estimate the 25,000 square foot building is about 90% destroyed.

No word on what caused the fire.  It’s not known if there were any injuries.

WLHR News has placed a call into Fire Chief Robert Wilkins with the Banks County Fire Department and will have more details as they become available.
