Local history buffs and photographers will want to take a drive over to Toccoa later this week to view a unique photo exhibit.

Beginning Thursday, the Currahee Military Museum and Main Street Toccoa will host a special exhibit called “Presidential Pathways.”

Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby says the exhibit is an interesting collection of presidential photographs.

“He was a New York Times White House photographer for 40 years and during that time, he took some very iconic pictures of the different presidents,” said Crosby. “It is all black and white and he catches them in some very candid times.”

The exhibit was put together by Tames’ daughter and is on loan to Toccoa from the Averitt Center For The Arts in Statesboro, Georgia.

Crosby says it will open on September 25 and admission is free to view the exhibit while it is in Toccoa.

“We will be having a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on September 25 and we are hoping that everyone will be able to join us,” said Crosby.

The Presidential Pathways photo exhibit will remain in Toccoa through November 7.
