Reward Now Offered For Missing Buford Woman

A $10,000 reward is now being offered by the family of a missing Buford woman who was initially believed to be in the Lavonia area.

36-year old Tosha Reed Herron has not been seen since she left her home in Buford the evening of October 11 to visit a friend in Blue Ridge.

According to authorities, Herron mistakenly went up I-85 and got lost.

At one point, she contacted her friend when she got off the Interstate in Lavonia and it was believed she may have been somewhere between Lavonia and Toccoa.

However, Lavonia and Toccoa investigators were able to track her cell phone to the Dicks Hill Parkway and Demorest areas later that evening.

Herron’s vehicle was discovered the next day some 200 feet down an embankment off Highway 129 of Hester’s Gap on Blood Mountain.

Some of her personal property was located near the car, but Herron was not found.

After several days of searching the mountain, Lumpkin County authorities concluded she was not in that area.

Since then, the family reports they have received a number of tips that Herron has been seen in the Gainesville area, but so far, all leads have gone cold and they have not located her.

In mid-November, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the search for Herron.

Herron is described as a white female,  approximately 5’2” tall, weighing about 140lbs with long brown hair and brown eyes, but the family reports she may have cut her hair short and dyed it blond.
