As it continues to deal with its ongoing financial crisis, the Stephens County school system appears to be on the search for a new finance director yet again.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey said that Angel Terry submitted a letter of resignation last week from the Finance Director position.

“She had an opportunity closer to home and I think with that and just the additional stress that we are all going through right now, (it is) certainly an understandable decision,” said Dorsey. “We will begin looking for a replacement and we have some folks right now making an adjustment while we go through this transition period.”

Her letter of resignation will have to be accepted by the Stephens County Board of Education, which Dorsey said will be next month.

Terry had served as Finance Director for just over eight months after being hired by the Board of Education on July 25, 2014.

She was the fourth Finance Director for the Stephens County School System since February 2013, when Annah Dodge resigned suddenly from the position.

Dodge was replaced by Justin Beecher, who resigned after just over six months.

Then Misty Cleveland replaced Beecher, serving from October 2013 until she resigned in July 2014.
