Sunday House Fires Claim Three Lives in Oconee County, SC

In Oconee County, SC Investigators from Emergency Services, Sheriffs Office and the Coroner’s Office in Oconee continue their work today to determine the cause of two house fires that claimed the lives of three people.

According to Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King, Oconee 911 received reports of a residential structure fire on Brooksmoore Road outside of Walhalla Sunday night about 9p.

Fire crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

Crews from Walhalla, Westminster, and West Union Fire Stations worked for approximately 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The fire completely destroyed the home and its contents.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis confirmed two victims were found inside the home.

Their names have not been released.

Fire crews arrived to find the home fully involved in fire.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Once the fire was put out, authorities found the body of a man inside the house.

His name has not been released.
