Tournequit Credited With Saving Life of Motorcycle Accident Victim

Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed said quick thinking by one of his deputies likely saved the life of a young man involved in serious motorcycle accident over the weekend.

On the Banks County Sheriff’s Facebook page, Speed said the accident happened Saturday afternoon.

The victim, a young man who has not been identified, has been hospitalized and Speed said he is expected to undergo a lot of physical therapy.

Speed said Banks County Sheriff Deputy Jody Milford was first on the scene and immediately applied a tourniquet to the victim’s injuries and kept him from bleeding to death.

Speed said all of his deputies carry tourniquets in their cruisers, which he said were supplied by Webb Creek Baptist Church.

Speed thanked the Church members and asked for continued prayers for the young man.
