A routine traffic stop on I-85 in Franklin County leads to the arrest of an Anderson man and a major drug bust.

It happened earlier this month, according to Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas.

“On August 1st, Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies along with troopers from the Georgia State Patrol Hartwell Post pulled over a 2015 Chevy Traverse at mile marker 170 for a traffic violation,” Thomas said. “Deputies discovered the driver was driving on a suspended license.  A search of the Traverse uncovered 6.6 pounds of cocaine with a street value of approximately $90,000.”

Arrested was Chee Davis of Anderson, SC and a passenger, identified as Samuel Calhoun also of Anderson.

Both were taken to the Franklin County Detention Center and face a number of charges.  A hold was also placed on the pair for authorities in Anderson, SC.
