02/27/17 – Cocker Spaniel Looking for Home Through Hart County Humane Society

Poor Sonny has endured more pain than any dog should have to, yet he is affectionate and loving to those he is close to.

Initially purchased off Craig’s list, once his owner found he was sick, the dog was surrendered to Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter.

We knew Sonny was heartworm positive with infected ears, but the calcified polyps were a complication we hadn’t expected. Surgery would be expensive and recovery painful but Sonny has friends who feel the sweet young dog was worth the effort to have a long healthy life.

Sonny has been treated for heart worms and surgery on both ears has been completed. Recovery was slow with daily medication and biweekly laser therapy. He is neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated and treated for parasites.

Sonny is crate trained, gets along with other dogs and cats. He is loving with people he trusts will not hurt him but sometimes wary of those he doesn’t know.

If you think Sonny can trust you to love him and never harm him please call 706-436-0965 or email [email protected]. Applications to adopt Sonny can be found by visiting harthumane.org.
