Carnesville To Hold Halloween In The Park This Saturday

Carnesville is gearing up for an evening full of fun and games, said Rita Shoemaker. The city will host its annual Halloween in the Park on October 21 and have something in store for all ages.

“We’re having Carnesville Halloween in the Park this Saturday from 6-9,” said Shoemaker.

The event kicks off with a Halloween standard, the pumpkin carving contest, as Shoemaker explains.

“We will have the pumpkin carving contest from 6-7 and it’s for Pre-K all the way to adults, and you must bring your pumpkins already carved,” said Shoemaker.

Along with the pumpkin carving contest, the event will also feature a costume contest for the young ones followed by a lighted parade, says Shoemaker.

“The costume contest is at 7 p.m. And it’s for Prek-K through elementary. We have a lantern light parade that starts at 8 p.m. If you want to be in the parade, the lineup is at 7:30 p.m. at the DEFACS Building. All we require is that you carry a light or have lights on you,” said Shoemaker.

Of course, no Halloween festival would be complete without candy and games and Shoemaker guarantees plenty of both at this year’s event.
